I currently have mine installed outside in a covered porch. Would not get wet but has been cold here in New England and the only issue I have is at times the video quality degrades showing purple shadows. I just turn the camera off and back on again via the app and it clears right up.

The battery settings may either display a known or unknown battery status when the device is outside its normal operating temperature. The Nest Cam may also completely shut down until the temperature returns to normal.
