The nest cameras can only be connected via WIFI and automatic video storage is done on the cloud with a subscription to google "nest aware". Google has simplified their "nest aware" subscription and made it more affordable. You pay an annual fee based on two options. One option is a 5 day storage for all of your cameras, the other is a 30 day storage for all your cameras. They used to charge by each camera you had connected to "nest aware". You can save any recorded activity to your phone or laptop.
