One App to rule them all, One App to find them, One App to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them! It's rumored that Google will eventually get rid of the Nest App and everything will need to be controlled through the Google Home app. They did this with Google WiFi and it seems they are doing it with Nest.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am afraid that all Google smart products are migrating to the Google Home App for it's hub of things. Google has integrated Nest into Home as well. I agree it is cumbersome at first, but I have gotten used to using it now because of the inclusion of the this with the Nest Doorbell.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Google responded “our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app”. I am disappointed with Google/Nest’s priority in advancing an app with a clumsy and time consuming interface over The Nest App’s intuitive and efficient format. It is the same mind boggling reasoning that eliminated the Picasa photo app. This decision is a deal breaker for me and I will avoid Nest cameras in the future. I hope Google reconsiders.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We chose to transition to the Home app because this app is designed for the future of the smart home, a single place to set up, manage, automate, and control your home. Today, most home devices are controlled across multiple apps, but we’re working on making the Google Home app the central controller across all your home devices, including Google devices and devices from other brands.
