Doorbell only announced if it's pressed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Nest Hello (doorbell) will only notify you through the Google/Nest Speakers when the doorbell is pressed. The rest of the time, you'll get a regular Nest Notification.

Please try again later.Google Home speakers won’t notify if motion is detected by Nest doorbell, but the Visitor Announcement feature will let Nest or Home speakers and displays announce when someone rings your doorbell. It can also send a visitor notification to all phones that share access to your doorbell with the Home app (Nest Doorbell Battery) or Nest app (Nest Hello, wired doorbell). Also, your Nest camera will send notifications to your phone when something happens. Camera alerts are notifications you receive on your phone or tablet when your Google Nest camera or doorbell detects important activity.
