The nest app does have an auto- schedule that learns your habits and when nobody is home. You can find this function by selecting the settings wheel on the nest home screen, then select your main thermostat. Auto- sensing isthe second option. You can also make a schedule for every day of the week. This can be done by selecting your main thermostat from the home screen (under the house pic). At the bottom of the screen you'll see schedule.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nest senses your presence via your cell phone when you install the nest app. You can connect multiple phones. It automatically sets to eco mode when it senses your phone in not WiFi connected. You set the range of temp for high and low on eco mode. When you return it senses your phone and adjusts back to maintain the temp that would be normal for that time of day. You can manually preset a schedule from the app that has unlimited setting options if you wish to do that. I used that to set up my “normal” temps through the day but rely on the device to adjust heating or cooling demand when I leave.
