“I purchased this last year, went away for the summer and set to 90 degrees (I live in the desert) and it ran all summer down to 68 and a huge electric bill. How do I make sure it does not change while I am away? I want to set it and leave it. Jeanster”

There is an "away" feature that you can program if you want it to stay a certain temperature while you are away.

Please try again later.I noticed that if you want to change the temperature for an extended period of time, the easiest way to do that and have it stick is to go through the schedule for your nest, and clear out all the other temperature settings. Otherwise, it will try to heat or cooler to your previous settings. I assume this is because it's a "smart" thermostat, so it's trying to learn and adjust to your habits, so you have to make it forget your previous habits.
