True, but if you check the boxes on all the other alarms out there, you'll find the same situation, and many of them are only good for 4-7 years. Consumers bear some responsibility on this topic..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is correct, if you purchased an alarm that was manufactured in 2018, then it is expired in 2028. Always check the manufacturer dates before purchasing. If the store is selling old alarms, then request a deep discount for them. I wouldn’t pay full price for old fire alarms, even if they are “Nest” products.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yeah, it's 10 years from manufacturing date, the one I picked up this past week had a June or July 2018 date on the underside. They even list the replacement date right next to it. Our old ones didn't even mention the 10 year lifespan. So one year isn't too bad considering the length of time it takes for it to go from being made, being packaged, being shipped out to a retailer's regional distribution center, being sent out to the store that is going to display it, and the time it takes for someone (us) deciding on buying it. For this type of product, you avoid the last generation (those are probably running five or six years by now)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The only way to find out is to go and look at the product itself. Based on what I read, you are correct - 10yrs startng from date of manufacture listed on the product.
