To comply with UL (Underwriter’s Labs) certification standards, 2nd generation Nest Protect has to be replaced after 10 years. To help you remember to replace your Nest Protect before it expires, you’ll be sent reminders in the Nest app long before your Nest Protect’s expiration date.
