Hi there. I was having the same problem in my home. I had the old generation smoke detectors (wired ones), I just removed them from the ceiling and installed the NEST. It easy to install, check it out youtube for the installation. Should be super easy. Thanks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It won't cause any problems but the beauty of nest is that they talk to each other wireless lyrics to tell you where in the house smoke / CO2 is so you wouldn't be able to do that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pretty sure the Nest would actually alert you if the other one goes off. Should be a great combo! That's what I heard from other sources so I just put one in my main hallway close to kitchen which should also recognize if the hardwired ones in any bedrooms go off!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No I put mine in the middle of Hall way around four regular ones and it works just fine
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will not interconnect with the other unit which may be against code and certainly isn't safe. I swapped them out one or two at a time until I got the 6 i needed, to keep from spending 600 at once.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
