“We have Nest carbon monoxide/smoke detectors in our house and garage but how will we know when it's going off? We both are deaf. Anyway for lights to change color or to alert us? We got it installed in 2017 and 2020 in garage. Thank you”

• Hi Bird, Nest Protect gives you an early warning that smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) levels are rising. When Nest Protect senses smoke or carbon monoxide below emergency levels, it will pulse yellow and will also send you a mobile notification on your smartphone or tablet. When smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) reach emergency levels, Nest Protect will pulse red, make a loud sound, and tell you what and where the emergency is. Nest Protect will also send you a mobile notification.

• You will also be notified on your phone when their is a problem. And the product does change colors when there is a problem but the color change is subtle.
