“Will this continue to work in an unheated garage. Living in ND it can get to -30 degrees during the winter. From experience batteries and what not can cease operation from the cold.”

As per the instructions, these are NOT meant for installation in a garage. I would put on in there as well and intended to but the possibility of emissions from cars would set them off non-stop I would imagine.
