The Nest Secure system comes with two Nest Detects which can be placed on a door or window. The Nest Guard does have a motion sensor on the front, however you can choose to disable this within the settings.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The motion sensors aren't activated when you arm the system while at home. The sensors are the same whether you attach them to the wall or the window/door.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you’re home and you arm the system for that, the door and window sensors work but the motion sensing feature is turned off. If you set the alarm for “away”, then the motion sensors are also armed and functioning.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Nest Protect sensors are dual in that they may be placed on any door, window, sliding glass doors, etc., and will be triggered if the door, window, etc. is opened. However, these sensors may also function as motion detectors for the room concerned. It is your choice when setting up the system via the Nest Application, and easily changed whenever desired. The Nest Secure system is always in 1 of 3 states. It is either off, Armed and Home, or Armed and Away. When set to Armed and Home, the sensors may be set to trigger only when the door or window is opened and the motion detection is off (bathroom visits will not trigger the sensors). When leaving and the house is empty, the system is set to Armed and Away. All the sensors will now be triggered if a door or window is opened and/or motion is detected in a room which has a Protect sensor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are two settings when enabling the alarm. Home & Guarding which enables all the door/window sensors but does not enable motion detection. The other setting is Away and Guarding which enables the sensors and motion detection.
