• There are unlocked versions of this phone available via the Google direct sales of this phone. It works on any carrier

• Yes, buy it from Google Store. Also if you are t-mobile user, t-mobile will give you $325 rebate on your bill over next 24 hours if you activate a Google Pixel on the new T-mobile new One plan. Search for it. Don't know how long T-mobile rebate incentive will continue!

• Yes, there is an unlocked version available on the Google Store. I'm not sure if Best Buy will be selling the device off-contract (it's possible).
