This is what I did, and it worked for me. That said, I had to connect it to wifi for a while before the sim card activated. It did not activate until I was fully through the setup and starting updating all the apps (on wifi).

Please try again later.I am pretty sure it should work, however, you might have to check on the fine print of what you sign on into with the activation because it means that they sign you into some service provider (basically means you are opening a new cell phone line, but you could port your phone's number into it if you stay with them.) I do not know if they lock you into some sort of contract where you can't use the phone for a certain time with another provider without losing that discount that you have gotten. Check directly with BestBuy about the details of the deal. A phone is a phone and it is unlocked, so it should work outright with another provider's SIM card but the pain of cancelling, or ability to do so, of the contract that you are signing (if any) is the pain that you might incur that they don't mention. Basically? Read the fine print (or talk about the details with a representative) .
