Primary unit has to be physically connected to your modem/router by ethernet cable (approximately 24" long) that is provided with the mesh unit

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The routers are about 50 feet apart. My house is shaped like an H. The first router was installed on the upper left side of the H - and the signal was not reaching any of the bedrooms that would make up the entire ride side of an H. The second router purchased would be located in the center cross bar of the H. Using your Google Fiber app - you can see the signal strength and adjust the placement of the device if needed.
