“When using to take photos, is there a zoom? If so, how much of a zoom. If not, are there other models in the same price range that do have it. If I get it, I want it for photo taking also.”

Yes there is a zoom. Even on the video. It isn’t a far zoom but it is nice enough to get good pictures or video.
