• It needs to be connected to your phone or tablet through the Google Home App! But it uses your home wifi connection for updates and so on.

• You connect to your WiFi, and we are Comcast / Xfinity customers. We specify the WiFi via a phone app (Google Home app), but I believe it can also be specified by your computer.
