When the room is dark, the display is intentionally very dark and shows the time only. Touch the screen during darkness makes the screen slightly brighter and shows the daytime info as described above. It can respond to “hey google” commands and questions. It can play one of about a dozen relaxing sounds like rain, crickets, and ocean waves. The amount of time to play the sounds can be specified. There is a “hey google, good morning” command that will read news highlights, traffic, etc if you are already in the google ecosystem, the info will be more customized. It will not play YouTube videos but can play video from various home devices.
