Hi Carlos, Evaporative air coolers are not air conditioners as they do not have a compressor and do not use refrigerant gas to cool a room like an air conditioner. They are a low-energy cooling option using the natural process of evaporation to drop the temperature of the ambient air being vented out into your room - similar to a fan but with the added feature of water evaporation. They work best in warm, dry locations. Because they use water evaporation to cool, moisture can collect inside the room. Therefore, it is recommended to open windows and/or doors to allow adequate cross-ventilation of air to pull in warm dry air from outside, and to circulate the moist air outside.
