• No. The filters are easily replaceable. The front of the purifier pops off, and the filters slide right out! There's a pull tab on the white HEPA filter that makes removal even easier. There are tabs, similar to a picture frame's, that hold the carbon filter in place; just slide it in! You can buy the filters in packs from Best Buy, or you could probably find them at stores like Walmart, Lowe's, or Menard's.
