• Better to buy bigger! don't undersize, I did a lot of research prior to purchase. I use it in a very damp cellar. It will run only to maintain your humidity level you set. Cycling on a large or small unit is basically the same- It runs until it reaches the desired set humity %, then it stands by.

• Size is fine for my UNFINISHED basement. Our basement is only about 500sqft, it requires a sump-pump to avoid flooding and the laundry is down there.
