I have a 40 foot hose on mine. just make sure you have a slope to the hose, if it lies flat then the water will pool and mold will grow. I used foam pipe insulation of varying thicknesses that i could staple to 2x4's to hold the hose straight and with a 1/4" per foot slope. That is probably more precise than i needed to be but I am an engineer ;-). The whole set up works great in a large basement. if you have a height confined space, make sure you can vent the exhaust from the unit somewhere. The exhaust is warm and still has humidity to it (albeit lower than when you started) so it could form mold on a ceiling if it doesn't blow towards an opening.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought a condensate pump years ago. I have it next to the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier drains into the pump, and the unit pumps water up and out my basement window. The pump has a float switch so it turns on when the water level rises to a certain point. Worth considering for $50 or so.
