If the holding tank fills up it will stop working until it is emptied. If that is happening that is the issue. The humidity will start to rebuild in the area until is drained. It needs to be emptied more often or it needs to be allowed to drain continuously via the hose. If it is draining continuously already and it still is not doing its job then I would guess and ask the question that if it is turned off then restarted and it starts to collect water the unit is working. So there are three possible issues. 1. The unit is set to stop at a certain CMs that is not what you want. 2. There is more humidity than the unit can deal with. 3. The unit is not working properly. I can say the one I have works very well in a very large basement.
