Yes. I was able to turn off WiFi on my iPhone and control the unit using cellular. I tested changing the fan speed while next to the unit and the it immediately changed speed. I also changed the humidity level but that doesn't cause a visible change on the unit because it displays the humidity level of the room. I assume it works because I can kill the app, connect to WiFi, and see that the unit has the same level that I set when using cellular data.
