• Power button. Hold it down it will run until you release the button or hit it 2x and it will stay on. Has button for carpet/ hard floor/ other.

• A trigger that you have to hold the entire time. I wouldn’t recommend. I returned mine.

• It does have a trigger to operate. If you pull it twice you dont have to hold it in, it stays on until you pull it in again. It has a touch sensitive button on top to choose carpet or hard surface. My wife loves this over the Dyson. It feels cheap, but a durable. A good buy for us, we use it daily due to dog shedding.
