We have been using the vacuum for over a month now and despite having only two “modes” it has been performing so well that it has basically replaced our Hoover WindTunnel 5 mode corded vacuum and our pair of small handheld vacuums (and other older DirtDevil). Some pros: swivel steering, powerful suction, cordless technology, easy to switch parts. Some cons: I would say that cleaning the dirt cup is the lowest point for this device, it is a little messy to do it. Would have giving it a 4.5, but there are not middle points. Details: First setup: it was easy for the most part, although opening the box without tearing it apart was a little bit of a challenge (in case we needed to return it we were careful to preserve the box). It took less than 1 minute to get the three main parts attached (two clicks) and ready for its first carpet vacuum test. Battery was supposed to not be charged, but it took only a couple of minutes to go from “blinking” to “unblinking” when placed on the charger station. First vacuum: first time using a cordless vacuum, as we always had corded ones. It felt a little more “effort” to keep it right than other upright ones, this was expected as the more weight is near the top where the battery and the dirt container are placed. It was just a different experience to a regular corded upright vacuums we’ve had, easy to move around, circle round objects, go under the tables, switch from carpet/rug to tile with just on finger. Switching parts was easy, replaced with the hand brush to reach corners in the walls that were collecting some spider webs; although it felt a little heavy when reaching up to the corners (compare to the lighter handheld vacuums we have) it was refreshing to see how fast we were able to remove the webs and dust. After about 25 minutes we did most of the first floor with the walls included, we wished at the point to have a second battery to finish up the whole thing. The dirt cup contained a lot of material, we were very pleased with the performance. Regular use: usually before using it we make sure the battery is fully charged, so that we have a better estimate how long we have left (well the battery level is displayed on the unit so even at not fully charged the remaining time can be estimated). We frequently do the transition from carpet to hard floor with the touch of a finger, noticed that it spins faster on carpet than on hard floor (so basically two speeds). It is so convenient with the swivel steering capability, that on its own makes it worth whatever money was paid for it, so easy to go around objects and underneath them even from the side (not going directly forward, but moving the vacuum right to left). Swivel steering: this is one of the strongest points for the vacuum, it is easy to clean around round objects and corners or edges (already mentioned before). Even when I decided to clean, and my wife was sitting on the sofa with no intention in moving from there, it was easy to go under her feet, also, I would be lazy to pick some objects such as our bosuball, and going around them with ease was such a delight (I was actually enjoying vacuuming at that point). Very convenient. Dirt cup: we’ve found that to proper way to clean/empty the dirt cup is by opening the whole thing and removing the filter and unfortunately using your fingers or some cloth to get rid of the particles attached to the inside parts. This is a little messy and I would say not really pleasant to do as you can breathe some unwanted dust (so need to be very careful when cleaning it). Brush roll: definitely easy to clean, convenient if there are pets around or people with long hair as the hair would get stuck in the brush. We got a warning light once because the brush roll wouldn't move, clean the dirt cup and the brush and all was fine (we feared the vacuum was done, but what a delight it was working fine afterwards). Battery life: it takes around 50 minutes to fully charge the unit and it lasts around 25 minutes, which is not bad, but we are considering buying a second battery to always have one ready for use. We had a couple of times where we left the fully charged battery on the unit but mysteriously it seemed to have lost some of the energy (still need to find out what really happened, I just write this here in case other people have had similar experience). Wall mount: we haven’t used the wall mount because the vacuum is used in different places and haven’t felt the need to leave it at a specific place. For the battery charger though, its place is under one coffee table by the main living room, where a couple of other charging devices are. Overall: very pleased with this device.

We have had so many vacuums throughout the years and they've all been geared toward pets and removing pet hair. We have two cats and two dogs and of course they shed like nobody's business so it's a constant battle to keep up with their fur on the carpet, on the couch, etc. We have had Dysons, Sharks and now we have the Hoover. The Dyson originally worked very well but was eclipsed on the pet hair front by our Shark. How would the new Hoover Fusion compare to the excellent corded Shark? My first vacuum from Hoover Fusion resulted in a defective vacuum that would start up and worked just fine except the mode button went bonkers and I would soon find that it would not light up at all. A quick explanation here of the mode button. The mode button switches between pure vacuum, the carpet sweeper and the hardwood floor sweeper. So without the mode button working you could not use the actual vacuum part that you would run along the floor. A call to Hoover support though went fantastic. I got right through, zero wait time on hold and spoke to a wonderful, English speaking woman who took me through a few steps to ensure my vacuum did need replaced. Once it was determined that it would need replaced she put in an order and a few days later a new Hoover was at my door and a shipping label to send back the old one had been emailed to me. This was a great case I think in turning a negative experience, a defective product, into a really positive experience and something I wish all companies could learn from! Excellent job on customer service, just beyond the pale. My second unit fired right up and the mode button worked beautifully so it was time to vacuum. It was nice to see that the unit did ship with a full charge so I could get right to trying this vacuum out. The unit came together quite easily and was pretty straightforward with minimal pieces. You really didn't even need any instruction manual. It was also nice to see all of the various attachments included for various sweeping situations. I began to sweep and was very impressed with the Hoover Fusion, it picked up pet hair in spades from my carpet. The unit was very light and easy to maneuver. The liberation from the cord was a great feeling and made for much quicker cleaning as I went through the nooks and crannies of my house. It also did a really great job of getting under furniture with very little effort thanks to its very low profile. All in all I was very impressed with using the Hoover Fusion using it for the first time. Please note though that there are a few downsides to the Hoover Fusion that you should be aware of. One is a little more annoying than the other two, which are relatively minor. The first is that some of the pieces that you take on and off the vacuum are very tight and can be a bit of work to take on and off because of just how tight they snap into place. There are buttons on the vacuum that you press that are supposed to 'release' the piece but sometimes it can take a little effort to get the piece to come free. However, I do not find this to be a very large flaw because I think, in time, the pieces will loosen up a little as you take them off and put them on again and again. The second flaw is that you do have to empty the vacuum a little more than I'd like. The tank to hold the pet hair and swept up contents could stand to be just a little larger I think. The last and largest flaw, is how one has to empty the unit. Since pet hair seems to accumulate up along the ridge between the filter and the plastic casing you really have to use an object to help you dislodge the hair. A pen, a butter knife or something you can go up in there and just pull forth the hair. It's not a huge deal really and maybe if you didn't have a ton of pet hair this wouldn't even be an issue but I found myself going around the house with a small butter knife in my pocket to assist in emptying the unit. Bottom line, is this a good vacuum I should purchase? Yes it definitely is, the pros far outweigh the cons. But how does this stack up to the current king of pet hair removal, the corded Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro? Well pretty damned good I think! Sure it doesn't quite have the suction power, it probably has about 75% of it, but that is offset by the convenience of going cordless. And speaking of cordless, I did find that the claims of Hoover to get about two hours of vacuum time to be accurate. I can honestly say I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Hoover Fusion vacuum. The fact that it's so light, does such a great job of getting the pet hair and that it can be used in so many convenient ways, as a handheld, a regular vacuum, an above the head long sweeper, etc means that this vacuum will be the go-to vacuum in our household for many years to come. Pet owners, you NEED THIS!!

We've used many brands of vacuum cleaners over the past many years and have been seeking the perfect end-all vacuum for our new home we purchased in 2015. While that perfect vacuum may not exist, we've had to keep a few different vacuums on hand for various tasks. We've even tried the expensive brand vacuums (you know which I'm talking about!) and have had better luck with some of the cheaper ones. Our primary vacuum is really nice and we plan on keeping it around to use for the carpets and such. However, this Hoover Fusion vacuum gives it a run for it's money on hard floors and especially upholstery/pet cleanup. Personally, I prefer using this one on carpets too, but with our home being around 2k sq. ft., there's no way it would vacuum the whole house on the 30 minute charge - especially with having an 8 year old and a dog that sheds like crazy. LOL. Unboxing this vacuum was actually pleasant. It folds open from the side of the box, laying flat and everything is neatly bagged and laying out before you. We didn't even have to look at the instructions for assembly. We had it put together and got the battery on charge after about 15 minutes. After the initial charge and firing it up for the first time, we were impressed with how quiet it was - not as loud as previous vacuums we have used. My wife tested it out first, as these tends to be her geek-out moments. We couldn't help but to compare it to a previous top-of-the-line expensive vacuum we owned in the past. She vacuumed the two main living carpet areas and were really impressed with the suction and how much it got out of the carpet compared to our primary vacuum - about on par! I then decided to use it a few days later to test on the couch. We have a half-hound breed dog who sheds like crazy. Keeping the hair off the couch was a chore. No prior vacuum we owned was able to even remotely take on her hair because it's so course and embeds itself into the fabric. Out of frustration, we got a Chom-Chom roller online and it works much better than vacuuming, but it's tiresome because of all the back and forth rolling. This vacuum answered our prayers! The pet/upholstery head is made out of a roller and it tackles the dog hair in one fell swoop! Color me super impressed! However, I was sad to see that it didn't do so hot on the more fine cat hair on the other couch, which our main vacuum conquers with no problem. The only issue I ran into with this attachment was that it popped off the upholstery head once and I had to put it back on, fearing it had broke (but it was fine). So, this will be used for our hard floor and dog hair needs. My only real issue with this vacuum, overall - and why I knocked it one star off - is while being really light-weight, I just couldn't get over how "cheap" it felt. The entire vacuum is made out of nothing but plastic and the floor module with the main brush heads already has some scratches on it. But then I noticed, after only using it twice, the grey part at the top of the vacuum that is part of the hand-held canister already had a pretty long and deep scratch. No clue how that got there - it's a mystery. We've only used it twice and have been super careful both times. Only time will tell how long this vacuum will last us... The battery is NOT built in (which we prefer) and you pop it out to charge it. It takes about 2.5-3 hours to get a full charge from completely drained. But charging if after normal use, I found it's ready to go again in about 2 hours. One other thing to note - my wife initially had problems holding the trigger down to keep it running. She said she had to use two fingers to get enough pressure or it would be off and on...like it wouldn't register the full press. We did find out later that if you double-tap the trigger, it stays on automatically! This was awesome!!! Overall, 4 out of 5 stars. Dinging it due to the overall cheap feel and being build out of nothing but plastic. Outside if that, it is serious competition to our main vacuum and even some of the more expensive ones we've had.

This is my first handheld rechargeable vacuum I have owned since the days of the the Black and Decker Dustbuster( well over 25 years ago.)I have used other handheld rechargeable vacuums but always found they did not have the enough power. The Hoover FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum is a mixed bag when it comes to that ( more on that below.) The vacuum comes with all the expected features of a modern vaccum – bagless with a decent size canister, built well and multiple accessories. In review : Assembly- The Hoover was easy to put together and you can , mostly , figure out how to put it together without looking at the the instructions. I was a bit confused on he mounting pieces until I realized there was duplicate parts. Yes, I know that is rare and usually not the case but there is definitely two accessory tool mounts when it looks like there should be one. No big deal and the main unit assembles in a minute or two. Construction Like everything these days, it is nearly all plastic. That does not mean there is anything wrong with that, the main unit is solid. The brush head does tend to rattle a bit during use and at one point I thought something was broke. However, after examination, I found it was just the roller design in the power head and there was nothing wrong. Weight and balance The unit was a bit heavier than I would like but there is not much you can do if you want power and durability. It did get tiresome after using it in handheld mode with no power head on it. For quick clean ups, it is no problem. For prolonged handheld use with accessories, most women would find it too heavy. It tended to be a bit unnbalanced but not too much. This all changed when you install the extension wand and multifloor brush head and used in upright mode It was easy to use and manuvered well . Keep in mind, this is not a true upright vacuum so it does not stand up by itself. Battery life - The battery life was just perfect. In full rug mode, it cleaned 670 sq ft of floor space with a 26 minute run time. I used it in rug mode knowing that would use the most amount of power. I felt 26 minutes was very good for the battery size and weight. Next I used it in handheld mode with a brush head tool and I cleaned all surface areas in apartment and it lasted 37 minutes. Again , very impressive. It was easy handle most small jobs , Don’t get too hung up when you see run times in the 30 minute – that is par for course when considering balancing, weight, design etc of a battery powered vacuum. One nice feature is the main unit has a battery meter built into the control panel , no guessing when the battery is going to die. Sound I would put this as average for a handheld. Not quiet by any means by acceptable. Cleaning As indicated, the Hoover - FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum was a mixed bag in terms of power. In handheld mode, I expected suction to be stronger. It cleaned well with the accessories but I could not test it to limits. I just felt it could have had more suction power. When I attached the powerhead brush and used the vacuum as an upright, that is where the unit really shined. The powerhead brush was exceptional – deep cleaning that was comparable to a traditional upright. It really did a great job. Accessories and storage It comes with a wall mount that is just okay. The design of the vacuum is a bit akward for the wall mount and you have to find another place for the the charger and battery. Hoover should come up with a better design that integrates the charger, battery, accessories and the vacuum. Overall , I like the vacuum. There are some minor design changes that would make this a winner. I have seen comparisons to the competition, mainly that the big name out there is better. Of course it is , but that big name is also 2 to 3 times the price of this Hoover. That is where Hoover has the advantage – they offer a nearly comparable unit in terms of cleaning for $200. That makes this vacuum a far better value. Recommend.

The Hoover FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum is really the versatile vacuum Hoover claims it to be. This is truly cordless, lightweight, and it works perfectly in corners. My bulldog sheds a lot and this is the tool I have been using lately to get up her hair everywhere I love her but this is one of the problems I have a hard time completely getting up. Clearly, I can't pick up the larger vacuum and carry it upstairs to other locations. Portability was one of the problems larger vacs but this Fusion is the perfect size to move around. This vacuum is engineered for pets that were built from the ground up really delivers on every single thing the box promised. Opening the box you are greeted with instructions of everything within the box. It's super simple to set up together to get you clean in no time. The design of the fusion is awesome and lately, most companies have been doing great with the sporty design of the pet vacs. Hoover stepped it up on this product. There is also a wall mount so you can not only showcase the vacuum but you conveniently store it out of the way. Steering swivel maneuvers around very easy getting from high locations and low places. Right away you can see the "Windtunnel" brush roll, this is where you see most of the dirt pick up and see what pet hair twirling tangle free. This was the single most annoying thing to untangle my bulldogs clumped hair from my older vac so having this was a godsend to pet owners. This thing is designed for capture dirt and pet as you can witness sweep it away. Fusion pet is multi-floor compatible which it goes from hardwood floors to carpet with a touch of the dashboard (which I will talk about later), Cleans in very high places like shelves, ceiling fans, or hard to reach high places which worked fine with getting dust or cobwebs. The handheld mode is light and easy to carry around getting into even smaller spaces. There is an "XL Dirt cup which holds a massive amount of dirt and hair. I was able to use this with my bulldog each day for about a week and the compartment still isn't filled up. This a lithium battery which lasts for a long time longer than any vac I ever used and charges extremely fast. One of the highlights is a rapid charge feature which charges up the vacuum complete for me in less than 30 mins. Hoover has this nice interface called "Hoover Dashboard" which allows you to which modes on the vacuum very rapidly, Show you Maintenance reminders, and tell you the battery levels. There is also an odor filter that says it absorbs pet odors but I didn't seem to make a big difference in smell so it's still better to have pet eliminating spray. This vacuum could work as just a normal vac if you don't care about its pet features. It works just fine but you wouldn't be taking advantages of the pet features as I always said. If that's what you are looking for I would say try one of the others cheaper Hoover's vacuums and skip this one. BUT as a pet cordless vacuum for you and your little friend who sheds, this thing is a monster for picking up pet hair around your house. I would only recommend this product to anyone with a pet easily. This is a must-have pet owners product!

I have been really impressed with this product. I was looking for an easy lightweight portable vacuum with good suction and have been pleasantly pleased. This vacuum comes with multiple attachments that helps in reaching areas of my house along with long battery life. The reservoir that holds the sucked up items is a good size that allows for full room cleaning before having to empty. Hardware - The unit itself has can easily be attach / detach to the attachments provided. The battery pack hides underneath so it does not get in the way when cleaning and the reservoir is easy to access / clean. The are multiple combinations you can perform with the attachments to reach the hard to reach places. The Brussels and wheels are made well and had no problem switching from Floor to Carpet Mode. The mode options are easy to switch between with a hit of a button between Floor and Carpet, along with the 2 hit trigger option. 1 hit and hold for quick suction runs and a 2 hit for an always on mode. My only wish was a light to be included on the front for dark corners or underneath furniture. However I do not consider that a make or break for me so did not take away a star. Battery - Battery life is average, I have found the dirtier the floor/carpet or harder your unit has to work the quicker the battery is drained. Otherwise if its a normal amount of cleaning the battery appears to last for about 3 large rooms. The charge basin is easy to place / remove the battery from and charges pretty fast. The Battery itself is what adds weight to the unit, otherwise overall its a pretty light system.

    This is no Dyson

I currently own a Dyson Motorhead v7 which I have so thoroughly enjoyed for its ability to morph into several different devices and to do so well and quickly. It is fairly quiet as vacuums go as well, and the length of performance on a charge is just fine for what I need. Having just received this Hoover unit, I can offer a comparison based on actual usage of both. This Hoover is no Dyson. Part One: Ease of Assembly Dyson - piece of cake. Interchanges parts with such ease that the Hoover just is not in the same ballpark. Hoover - you can see how it goes together, but it just doesn't want to assemble. It is clunky and eventually you get the parts to snap together. This is not something you'd want to change from hand held crumb vacuum (using like a small dirt devil) and then to use as a carpet cleaner (with floor attachment). The Dyson is so modular it is a delight to use. The Hoover is frustrating and ultimately very poorly designed. I would be more likely to leave it assembled to do floors and never take it apart. It is that fussy. Part Two .- Ease of Use Once assembled, the Dyson seems svelte in comparison to the Hoover. And while at first looks the Dyson looks to be more awkward to manage, the Hoover is simply worse on all levels. I never found the Hoover comfortable to use whereas the Dyson has become svelte and light to use. And to go from one configuration to another on the fly is a dream. The Hoover never is easy to use. Part Three - Noise Once again the Dyson is a winner by a clear margin. It is comparatively by yards less noisy than the Hoover which sounds more like one of their vacuums than something you'd want to use to spot clean in a pinch. The Dyson never disturbs. The Hoover is that much noisier that I would think twice about using it with pets around. Part Four - Cleaning Both seem to do a good enough job - the Hoover is more massive and heavy and feels like a regular upright vacuum at times. The Dyson always feels like the beater bar assembly is sucking itself to the floor. I never felt this with the Hoover though the Hoover did a very nice job removing debris from a replanting of house plants that I did to test its effectiveness with debris on the floor. Part Five - Storage Without equivocation, the Dyson wins this. The Dyson comes with its own storage module to mount on the wall - the accessories are easy to reach and the charging is so simple - slide the handle into the pivoting support and the unit charges without having to remove the battery. The Hoover is a disaster. You have to find a place to store this monster and then you have to remove the battery and put it in the charger. Absolutely clunky design and not well thought out. Part Six - Debris container dumping. The Dyson has a red handle to pull and the debris is dumped into the trash can - I had to get used to how big the bottom opening would swing, but that was really the only adjustment I had to make in getting used to the Dyson. The Hoover has every button the same lame grey and it was not so apparent how to dump it and I ultimately on first try disassembled the unit rather than dumping the debris. After a second try I found the release for that debris door and it was fine. I find the Dyson to be a clear ease of use winner here in debris dumping. Part Seven - Overall Winner. The Dyson is the ultimate portable battery powered vacuum that I have found. I didn't think I would like a vacuum so much, but its ease of every day use and ability to morph from beater bar floor cleaner to hand held vacuum is simply stunningly easy. The Hoover is clunky and noisy and difficult to change from one configuration. It's only positive is that it cleans well. It does so irritatingly noisy and every other part of its operation is third rate. It is not a Dyson. It is barely acceptable.

Hi Laserwizard, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re happy to hear you find the FUSION Max to clean well! We have a couple recommendations that we think will make using the FUSION more enjoyable. When it comes to the dirt cup, take a look at this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BysFPIJT3Lg&index=4&list=PLJT0HzQNNNT-Ky2d3Ym7ssIwfEJSoshko. It walks you through how to empty the dirt cup and remove the separator. We have also noticed some difficulty with disassembling attachments and while there isn’t an immediate fix, this does ease over time with use. We hope this helps! I was given a unit free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review. Do you have a great, full-sized vacuum already in your household? How about a mop system of some sort? While these are indispensable when it comes to major chores around the house, do you have something for when you have fifteen minutes to get ready for family or friends coming over? Something of a size that can whisk around the house and is easy enough to handle by either yourself or a child? Hoover's FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum might be the device for you. I had originally chosen to review this item because -- based on my opening paragraph, above -- I already head different vendors' equipment to do major chores around the house. But when it came to freshening things up, whether that was hard surfaces or carpeting/rugs, or even stairs, I was really having to lug the wired device around. Not any longer. The FUSION makes it significantly easier to clean up major trafficked areas a breeze. After initially charging the sizable lithium-ion battery overnight (documentation says three hours are required for the first charge), I was able to hook up the unit to the extender pole and brush head without issue and really go to town. A selector button at the top allows me to select between hard floors or carpeting, and a circular LED indicator just above the floor selector allows me to keep an eye on battery charge. One attachment has soft bristles allowing for dust pickup. While I had to specifically move collected dirt more towards the hole of the attachment to be sucked in when connected to the extension pole, if I removed the poll and simply attached the soft bristle attachment directly to the machine (a la Dustbuster days from the 80s!), it worked much better. Part of this is because the extension pole has metal leads that allow the battery to operate the rotating brush without issue, but doesn't really provide enough suction for any other attachments. Another thing to note is that Hoover has so snugly created the attachment connection between attachments that it can be a bit of a struggle to remove attachments. What I realized is that this is because Hoover really wanted a good connection between the extension pole and the brush head attachment, so that makes sense overall. The biggest value that this device presents for me is its range of motion. I can literally stick the brush head attachment underneath a piece of furniture until I'm merely two to three inches off the ground and the brush head does not lift up. Very nice. Further, when I'm cleaning stair steps, I can literally twist the pole ninety degrees to the right or left, and the corresponding portion of the stair can easily be cleaned; it's excellent movement in either direction to really knock out cleaning stairs. This functionality has literally allowed me to save fifty percent of the time it normally takes to vacuum my stairs imprecisely with my full-fledged vacuum and its extension wand. Overall, while the Hoover FUSION won't replace your full-sized vacuum (it wasn't designed to do so), it is a great "in-between" device to use when it comes to pick clean-ups.

I have learned in my later years of life that stick vacuums are awesome and lugging around a heavy one can be a task especially with multi-level homes and stairs like mine! The packaging was great, and sturdy so I don't feel like my machine was banged up in transit to me. Opening it felt very nice and every piece has a spot in the bag (nothing is crammed in like other machines which can be overwhelming with multiple pieces). Not this one. Hoover's Fusion vacuum is amazing, with a quick charging battery that lasts much longer than my other one. I am most excited about the pet upholstery tool which is made of some type of rubber which works to collect the pet hair. It's cool and my dogs don't mind it being around. The thin crevice tool is cool as well because it can reach into fine places and corners that the brushes usually miss. If you are looking for versatility then this cordless vacuum is it. The wall mount is easy to install and sits nicely in a spare closet which is unlike clunky vacuums with power cords. I'm not going to lie and say this guy is also coming with my to work because it's so easy to travel with and the cleaning team at work misses places and I can't wait to get those dust bunnies with the crevice tool. Aesthetically it's beautiful and the purple hue is vibrant and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Clean up is simple as the canister is bag-less and within minutes it was good to see that my dark wood floors had hair I had missed. It told me that my vacuuming from a couple of days ago had missed important spots. It also showed me (literally) that the Hoover is worth it. Glad Christmas is coming because this is going to be a great gift for my granny and I plan on trying to get her one as well.

When I got my first apartment, I had a large vacuum. It was powerful and it worked really well for a number of years. When it finally gave out, I was surprised to find that vacuums were taking a new design trend and becoming smaller and smaller. Fortunately, even though vacuums have gotten smaller, they have retained their power and still do an amazing job cleaning. The Hoover Fusion Pet Cordless vacuum is no exception. This vacuum offers cordless versatility. I absolutely LOVE cordless vacuums because I hate the hassle that comes along with having to move around a cord and plugging it in room-to-room as I go. So, having a battery-operated unit is ideal for me. I’ve tried out a couple different cordless vacuums and while they pickup dirt and dust on non-carpeted floors, they just lack the power needed to really clean a carpet. This Hoover unit does not. It’s specifically designed to work on multiple surfaces and does an amazing job on carpets. When I tested it out, I vacuumed our home office, which has thick carpet in it. The vacuum performed beautifully and picked up everything in its path. I actually showed this to my grandmother and she was super impressed by it. She said, “Oh, Wow!” When I vacuumed a section of the floor for her. She said, “Wow, that does just as good of a job as the big ones do!” And she’s right. I don’t have any method to test whether or not the amount of dirt and debris left on the carpet is the same as the larger vacuums, but the Fusion seems to do a pretty good job of cleaning. The only complaint I have of this is vacuum is that it has a lot of little parts to it. I do wish that somehow these little parts — attachments and such — could be contained better. There is nothing worse than having a box of parts laying around. The vacuum does come with a wall mount so that you can secure it to a wall. This is kind of a nice touch. All in all, the Hoover Fusion Pet Cordless vacuum is a winner in my book. It does the job of bigger vacuums but takes up a fraction of the space.

This hoover is a great vacuum for daily cleaning and quick mess pickup. If you don't want to get out a larger full size vacuum and have something portable this is definitely the vacuum for you. I love some of the design choices of the Hoover. They have a removal battery and the wall stand includes the screws needed to mount it to the wall unlike some other. While it may not work for all walls, it should cover most people which is nice, don't need to make a trip to the hardware store to mount it. The flat design also stands up nicely on its own. I am very happy with this vacuum, its quite, powerful and I can use it to run a quick carpet/floor clean to a fast switch to clean up spilled coffee grounds on the counter. The large vacuum head can switch with a press of a button between carpet hardwood. So nice. While this is a bit heavier then say a Dyson, its much more comfortable to hold and with the addition of double tap to run continuously makes this the winner in comfort. The addition of the battery display to show how much power is left on the back of the vacuum is also a nice touch. While I've used it the last few days, I haven't had to recharge it yet. Has a nice large battery and it doesn't seem to suck less with use, with the indicator I'll have an indication when to charge. The cons really are the position of the removal battery. It has to be removed to be charged in the charging the dock, it would have been nice to have a way to charge it while installed, but its a minor compliant and I'd rather have to deal with that then have an integrated battery that I can't replace years down the load once it stops holding charge and not have to replace the whole unit. The only other thing is the locking of the attachments, it seems a bit stiff and harder to use then I'd like. Otherwise this is a great cleaning system, esp. if you don't want to get the big guns out to just get the daily dirt off the floor or clean up a spill.

A Great Addition To The Hoover Vacuum Family! The Cordless Fusion Pet Is A Very Versatile Vacuum That You Can Use For Not Only Carpeted Floors, But Also For Bare, Wood & Tile Floors As Well With A Simple Touch Control. You Can Also Use This To Vacuum Up High (like ceilings) OR Even As A Handheld Vacuum. It Is Very Simple To Assemble AND Disassemble In Order To Modify It For Your Different Vacuuming Preferences. As A Floor Vacuum, It Has An Easy Swivel Power Head Which Takes Tight Turns With Ease With Just A Slight Turn Of The Wrist. It Also Includes A Crack/Crevice Tool, A Soft Bristle Dusting Brush, A Pet Upholstery Tool. Also The Wall Mount That You Also Store The Tools Onto. The Dashboard Also Has Indicator Lights That Show You Which Type Of Floor Mode You Are Using and Also A Battery Power Level Indicator & Maintenance Indicators For When It Needs Emptied or Develops A Clog. The Trigger To Power The Vacuum Can Simply Be Held To Run The Vacuum OR Press Twice To Keep It On Without Having To Hold It. Then You Simply Press Again To Turn It Off. This Can Be Very Convenient For People That Get Hand Cramps Easily or Have Arthritis or in Certain Situations That You May Need To Hold The Vacuum Differently, Such As With 2 Hands. It Easily Gets Under Beds and Other Furniture and Small Tight Spaces To Get Cleaning of Areas Hard to Normally Access With Other Vacuums. Works Well On Stairs & Furniture & Drapes Too! It Does Have A Lot Of Suction Power and I can Testify That After Vacuuming An Area With My Older Hoover Canister Vac, I Went Over It Again With This Fusion And It Picked Up A Bunch More Dirt. Speaking Of Dirt, The Dirt Cup Does Hold About 50% More Than The Other Cordless Stick Vacs (including the more expensive brands) Dirt Cup Is Also Easy To Dump Directly Into The Trash. The Battery Lasted Me For About 25 Minutes Of Use Which Is Plenty Of Time. I Also Used It As A Handheld To Vacuum Out My Car and That Worked Great With The Provided Tools! One Disappointment I Do Have Is That The Battery Needs To Be Removed For Charging, But The Charger IS Included (But is Not Readily Wall Mountable.) Overall A Great Time Saving Versatile Vacuum That I Am Very Happy To Have, Use and I Am Pleased With The Results Of Its Performance

I would recommend this for consideration in what is becoming a more and more crowded field for cordless vacuums. I would term it a middle of the road option, somewhere between the low cost entry-level machines and the high end high cost vacuums. Positives; Very easy to put together Nice array of unpowered secondary attachments Can select carper, floor or suction only. Separate charger for battery. Has an illuminated circle on the handle that indicates battery life remaining. Very comfortable handle and it is nicely weighted. You press and hold a trigger button to run, press it twice and it stays on without pressure. The swivel steering makes it very maneuverable. Came fully charged. Run time for me using mix of floor/carpet was 50 minutes. Assume it would be longer if using un-powered secondary attachments, or suction only - but didn’t confirm. 2 hours to recharge from fully discharged battery. Powerful vacuum. It picked up quite a bit of dirt from areas that had recently been cleaned. Bagless design is nice and it has a large cup for debris. Filters can be easily accessed and cleaned using soap/water. 3 year warranty on vacuum Negatives Only one selection for suction No lights on the power nozzle. Release buttons were hard to press to be able to disconnect components. This may be due to being new so will have to see if loosens up over time. The power nozzle “bounced” when using on thicker carpets Had to go very slowly. The dirt seemed to collect around the metal motor shield within the dirt cup. So when emptying the debris collected would not fall out even when “slapped” to try to break loose. Consequently I had to disassemble and wipe off the area, which was a tad tedious. The power nozzle was just a tad to large to fit in the area around our toilets without having to go in sideways. This was the case in all 3 of our bathrooms. The power wand seemed to “stick” when I ran it along the baseboards. This may be due to it being new and the materials used to cover it. May go away with use? Overall this has some nice features but there is a lot of competition out there.

Surprising Light, Works Well With Pet Dander

This vacuum has surprised me since I've been using it. I have 3 cats and rooms with both hardwood and carpet. The dander is real! I wanted something that could both sweep the floors as well as removing pet hair from the couches. Pros: Weight vs power ratio is a good mix. The battery is small enough that it doesn't add a lot of weight while being strong enough to pull the pet hair from the carpet. The ease of use is simple enough. Everything kind of snaps together. You can use the wand for hard to reach area's or snap brushes right into the vacuum end for quick hand held cleanup. I had my doubts about the pet brush (rubber fingers), as someone who has had pets for years, I've seen a few of these work just okay. In combination with the suction, it worked out really well and I was able to clean off all my couches in just a couple minutes. Comes with hardware to mount to a wall. The trigger is kind of nice to conserve battery, but I preferred double tapping it to keep it powered on while doing floors. Cons: Most of these are consequential to having a cordless vacuum but here they are. Where they could use plastic, they did. While aesthetic and functional, a good drop will likely send you to the parts page. I'm sure this was done to keep the design light. At times when using at odd angles, it sometimes required two hands to hold on to the vacuum due to the balance of the weight. Not a huge issue but may be for some. Other thoughts: The goal was to have a vacuum that was easy to take out, use, and put away before having company or just a quick tidy up, but also be able to vacuum every room before the battery needed recharging. This worked well to do all of those things. I have a small home of just over 1,000 sq ft. but was able to vacuum all the rooms (moving fairly quickly) while using only half the battery.

This vacuum is well designed with a solid build. All components come apart easily and the dirt canister can be emptied in a snap. I did find I could cover 3 bedrooms, upstairs hallway, downstairs living room and wood kitchen floor using only 1/2 the charge. It did pick up a lot of our doggie’s pet hair. It is the first cordless vac I used that had adequate power. It will not clean as well as a wired vacuum especially in terms of fluffing the carpet, but it did a nice job more quickly. My wife liked the lower weight which can help you avoid the dreaded sweating when you vaccum (at least I do sweat bad for some reason). I stayed nice and cool using this lighter vac. It charges fast and came with some nice attachments. It is low profile so I could get under the cabinets in the dining room easily. It turns sharply and smoothly. One area it allowed me to vacuum easily was behind the brass bed head-board. I can’t get a wired vacuum to fit, but because this one has the long thin shaft I could take the power head off and get the dust bunnies up from back there – great. I did install the included wall mounting kit. You are told to install so that the power head sits on the floor, this is important because the hook-like holder is not designed to hold the entire weight of the vacuum even though it is light. Be sure to pay attention to this instruction. The wall mount included a holder to attach 2 of your brush attachments. You also get an on-board holder to hold 2 more attachments. I noticed there is an optional attachment to do drapes, but you could make due with the attachments included. You can also make it into a hand vacuum for steps and car vacuuming – much better than other cordless hand helds. Other cordless vacs I used were way too flimsy with terrible batteries – this one is the best I’ve used. Over all I loved this little guy and we are using it daily since it is so easy to grab and do a room quickly and it does a nice job. I do recommend it.

Review for Hoover - FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum - Black/Purple This unit maneuvers well, is easy to handle and with the power head in place, does a decent job on floors and carpets. But the list of drawbacks for it’s other features make it a “no thanks” from me. As noted by many others, the battery is heavy and right in the handle which adds weight, but I didn’t mind that. The fact that you have to remove it to charge it (and that the charger itself is roughly the size of a small toaster!) makes dealing with this large battery even less convenient. The tools that come with it for dust, pet hair, and crevices seem great, and they store neatly too, but again, without the power head, this unit just doesn’t have enough suction to collect things like pet hair and dirt. The unit cannot stand up on its own, so it comes with a handy wall mount to store it and hold the accessories. Once again, this doesn’t make up for the fact that it’s unwieldy to try and empty, to change out accessories, or to clean the filter without balancing the unit, or laying it down on a chair or counter. Overall, I’m disappointed in the design of the unit. It’s hard to change the parts on it. It’s difficult to clean. Although the drop down door for emptying the dust cup is easy and well designed, pet hair sticks in the unit and doesn’t fall out when you open it over the trash. To fully clean it involves removing the dust cup from the unit, washing the air filter (which takes 24 hours to dry) and cleaning out the dust cup. Although the battery lasts almost an hour, without sufficient suction, that’s not much of a plus; I’d rather have more power for less time. I think the design should have started with better goals than just long battery life. Give it more power, make it self-standing. Make the parts easier to change out. Make cleaning it up easier.

Hi TechSavvy55Plus, Thanks for taking the time to review the FUSION Max cordless stick vacuum. We understand you are frustrated with the dirt cup and changing the attachments out, and we want to help. When it comes to cleaning the dirt cup take a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BysFPIJT3Lg&list=PLJT0HzQNNNT-Ky2d3Ym7ssIwfEJSoshko&index=4. You should only have to clean the filter every once in a while. When it comes to the attachments, we do recognize that they can be stubborn to dislodge in the beginning, but over times this does become easier. We hope this helps! If you need further assistance with anything please reach out to us directly at 1-888-679-2121. Thanks! Jenna. Hoover

This Hoover vacuum is very sleek and works well, but I have some reservations about the design. Let me start with my biggest gripe, this vacuum is a little cumbersome to empty. The dirt canister and the mechanical portions of the vacuum are all of a piece. You need to remove the extension wand and any attachments prior to emptying the vacuum, and you have to support the awkward weight of the vacuum cleaner's motor and the like as you open the dirt cup. This isn't hard per se, but it is cumbersome. That aside, the vacuum looks great, doesn't have a cord to get in the way while cleaning, and it comes with numerous attachments. You don't realize how much a cord holds you back until you try vacuuming without one. It's so much more convenient. They did make an odd design choice in that pressing the power button / trigger once will only keep the machine running as long as you're holding the button down. Double tapping the button will allow for continuous operation. I'm honestly not sure whey they did this as I can't imagine a use case in which I wouldn't want the vacuum to just run when I hit the power button. The battery takes about three hours to charge, and I'd estimate that you can probably get about 30 minutes or so use out of it based on my experience. The vacuum works great on both hard floors and carpet with a simple press of a button switching between the two modes. All in all, I'm impressed by this vacuum.

What's in the box ------------------ Charger Crevice tool Dusting brush Hoover FUSION Pet BH53120 Pet upholstery tool Wall mount Assembly -------- Click, click and done. do i need to say more? Performance as a Vacuum ----------------------------------- I had a electrolux cordless vacuum which i had paid about $100 bucks a few years back and back then there were not a lot of cordless vacuums in the market and the one that i got sucked, literally. it would not hold charge and did not have much power to pick up cereals from the floor but things have changed since then. Nowedays they make cordless vacuums which are very powerful and this one is infact powerful and it lasts 25 minutes on full charge. The suction power is superb and consistent. The vacuum also pivots, you can reach those underside areas that you couldn't do with a corded vacuum. But there are some compromises when going cordless. This particular vacuum is not free standing but it does come with a stand using which you can hook it up to a wall in your laundry room. One thing that makes this model different from their normal FUSION model is the pet attachment. i do not have pets so i cannot comment on how this attachment works or how good it is on picking up pet hair. It can also be transformed into a hand-held vacuum which is great for cleaning/vacuuming the car. I like it, the only question is will the battery hold up charge 1-2 years down the line, time will tell.

    Subpar Performance for a Hoover

First off, the suction power of this Hoover Fusion Cordless Pet Stick is severely lacking! I was sorely disappointed by this vacuum’s performance, though I’d wanted to love it. After all, Hoover has been a trusted brand of floor cleaning products for generations. That being said, the machine does run relatively quiet, and is easy to maneuver. I didn’t find the handheld unit (which contains the battery) to be unwieldy at all. Emptying the dust chamber was a simple procedure, though getting all the dirt out that clung to the inner filter areas, was a bit of a chore. Also, a basic feature, which was curiously absent, was the lack of a light on the “upright” vacuum’s head unit. As far as included attachments go, they are what you’d expect to get with this type of vacuum. The pet attachment was actually nice and sturdy, and would have been the biggest selling point for me, if the vacuum’s suction power hadn’t sucked. It took longer to go over the same area trying to get up any real amount of pet hair, than it would have taken to just use a lint roller. And, while having a variety of attachments was a plus, the minus comes with there being no included bag or other way to store them along with the vacuum cleaner. Although the machine seems well-made, it definitely is not up to par with the quality Hoover is known for. So, I would not recommend this particular model.

Hi Janine, Thanks for taking the time to review the FUSION Max cordless stick vacuum. We noticed you had a little bit of trouble emptying the dirt cup fully. We have addressed this issue and you can find how to empty it easily through this video here: https://youtu.be/BysFPIJT3Lg, or just follow these steps:
      1. Press the Dirt Cup Release button
      2. Next press the Dirt Empty button over a trash bin
      3. Pull out the separator from the top of the dirt cup (this is the part with the rinsable filter on top. The entire piece is removable).
      4. Wipe away the dirt and debris with a microfiber cloth.
      5. Reinstall the dirt cup making sure that all pieces are properly aligned.

    Very Good Cordless Vacuum

I really like the Hoover - FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum. I was looking for something cordless that can still pick up dirt and pet hair like a full-sized vacuum. We have a Shark, but it is cumbersome plugging it in and moving it as I vacuum different rooms of the house. The Hoover - FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum allows you to do quick clean-up without the hassle of a cord. The set-up and operation are very easy. In fact, my 9 year old son took it out of the box, put it together, and proceeded to use it to vacuum out the back seat and floors of my car. It worked great and he was able to change the attachments and dump the collection bin easily. The only thing I do not like about it, is the fact that you have to hold the unit in your hand the whole time. Even when you are using it as a traditional vacuum, you cannot leave it free standing. You either have to hang it back on the wall hook, lean it against something or lay it flat on the ground. I wish the stick part locked into place to ease of transport or so you can leave it standing in the middle of the room if you need to move something in it's path, etc. Overall, I have found it to be useful and hold it's charge. I also noticed it has a very strong sucking ability and cleaned both my tile and carpets very well. I look forward to trying the pet hair attachment and the upholstery attachment as well.
