It does not stand on its own but there is a wall bracket included for storage. Battery does charge separately which is a bit annoying too. I thought it would charge while in storage rack. But no it’s a separate charger like those of cordless tools.

If you're looking for a standing vacuum, I would recommend looking for an upright model such as the HOOVER T-Series WindTunnel Vacuum (UH70210). Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven’t been able to get it to stand on its own. It’s too top heavy. Have to lean it against something. A wall mount stand does come in the box, so if you have a place for it, it can be mounted for storage.
