The HP 14a-ne0013dx Chromebook has a USB Type-A port for use with a flash drive, but you can only run software compatible with the Chrome operating system. The same is true of downloading from a site. One workaround for software not compatible with the Chrome OS is to use the web versions of the software (for example, Microsoft Word online). Please review the system requirements for the software you'd like to run to verify that it is compatible with the Chrome OS.
