Q: QuestionIn reading the Q&A it says it is in S mode. we have email accounts in hotmail.com, gmail and yahoo.com, will we still be able to access these? Also in S mode we can't switch to a different browser say like google or explorer. Am I correct?

• A:Answer Hello. Thanks for your question. Yes, you can access your email accounts through the Microsoft Edge browser. The Microsoft Edge browser is the only browser available in the S Mode. Google Chrome o other web browsers are not included with this laptop. In order to download the Google Chrome browser, you would need to switch out of the S Mode. Q: QuestionWhat is HP S mode? Does that mean it’s similar to Chrome OS? I’m needing a computer for Zoom since Zoom is phasing out Chrome OS and concerned would have same issue with HP S mode. Thanks

• A:Answer It's actually Windows that's running in S mode. S mode is a high security mode for running Windows. One of the security features is that you can only install and run apps that are available in the Windows Store

• A:Answer Yes, you can, with a couple of caveats. Because this computer is running Windows 10 in "S Mode" you'll need to download and install the version that's on the Windows Store. And with the available memory and storage, it's not a great choice for working with large databases.

• A:Answer yes it will work for that. if you are trying to do too much on it (like an everyday use laptop), it will frustrate you. i got it only to serve the purpose of taking my online tests for class because my chromebook does not support the app i need for the lockdown browser. it lags regularly though but since i don't use it as regularly as my chromebook, it doesn't bother me.
