Please ignore other answers. This unit DOES have a TN backlit display. It is NOT ips! The display is actually not to bad for a TN display and imho is quite acceptable. There is a spare 2.5 inch hdd/SSD bay ( plastic hp branded cover over the bay ). You can also upgrade the m2 SSD if needed.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Polar is right. This is a TN panel. HP does not use the conventional terminology for their screens creating confusion among consumers. HP calls TN technology SVA (Standard Viewing Angle) and the IPS technology UVA (Ultra Wide Viewing Angle). Since this particular laptop is rated SVA you will get a TN panel. Color accuracy is about 45% NTSC which is below industry standards for graphic design, but let me tell you that if you fully upgrade RAM and SSD this is a blazing fast and reliable laptop. I do a lot of video editing with it but I connect it to an external monitor for better color reproduction and brightness.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.On the hard drive: I was able to upgrade the M.2 drive to the PNY 1TB drive with no issues. There is an empty bay for a 2.5" SATA ssd also. I used the SanDisk 1TB internal ssd and with a simple change in the BIOS, it works perfectly. Memory: There is one empty slot for memory. The PNY PC4-19200 8GB worked with no issues. Hope this helps.
