I leave mine plugged in all the time, I never heard that the battery could be ruined by leaving it plugged in. Sometimes I unplug it, but with all the computers I have had that I have left plugged in all the time, they died because of malware or a virus, never because I left in plugged in all the time. And all the past computers I have had were HPs. Hope this helps.
