• Best Buy can do this, as can most dealers, and yes, there is a charge. Data migration is easy, and can be done by the owner, simply using an external drive as an intermediate, or (more complexly) using a cable. There are also some programs that will accomplish this, such as LapLink PCmover. Prices starts at around $50 and goes up to the hundreds for the more advanced versions.

• Hello and thank you for asking. Files and data can be transferred from your old computer to your new one, but programs cannot. However, programs can be reinstalled from your original installation media. Please contact the Best Buy Geek Squad for assistance with this.
