“I am trying to connect this computer (has windows 11) to a Canon printer. when I download the driver for my printer the computer thinks it is an app and will not work. How do I get the computer and printer to work together?”

I had to ditch my old printer for a new windows 11 compatible printer. It was worth it. I got a new HP for $119 and ink cartridges that were cheaper than my 16 year old printer. There were cheaper ones, but all the new printers are Windows 11 compatible. In addition it came with a scanner I never had before.

You'll need to open the downloaded Canon software and set up the printer like you would if it was new. You can also do this in search>printers>scroll down to "add a printer".
