It would be fine for most work from home jobs. You can connect it either through WiFi or with a wired Internet connection. For WiFi, you just need to make sure it's someplace where you can get a good signal from your wireless router. If you want to hardwire it, it will need to be fairly close to the router so the cable doesn't get too long, in which case it might be a tripping hazard.
