• No this monitor does not have sound. But you can buy inexpensive speakers for around $35. Yes you can use the HDMI cable. That makes the monitor look really great. It performs excellent with the Mac Mini I purchased at the same time with some Logitech speakers. Good buy. Look for the sales on this monitor. I got it when it was $80 off. $149 out the door.

• Yes, it has a headphone jack in the back so the audio delivered by HDMI could be heard if you use headphones or plug an external speaker into the headphone jack. But it doesn't have a built in speaker.
