I cannot fit the 63Xl into5the cartridge slot. It must be wider than the 63.

63 XL lasts longer than 63. It's supposed to last at least 2x longer I believe.

Both HP 63 and 63 XL ink cartridges are able to work with all the same printers. Hp 63 black can print 190 pages until it's empty but hp 63 xl can print 480 pages. The cartridges are the same size but HP puts less ink in the small cartridge.

The XL is high capacity and contains up to 2.5 times more ink than the standard size 63 ink.

Standard 63 ink will print ~190 pages black and ~165 pages tri-color.
XL will print ~480 pages black and ~300 pages tri-color.

The economy size is not easy to find, but prints ~170 pages black ~145 pages tri-color.

The "XL" stands for extra large, it means there is more ink in the cartridge so it will last longer and you'll be able to print more pages than with a cartridge that doesn't have "XL" on the package..

The plain 63 black cartridge costs less than the XL one does but it doesn't last as long. I usually buy the 63XL if I have the money to do so but when I am not flush with money, I find it necessary to get the cheaper cartridge. They both work well in my printer but one lasts longer than the other one.

XL cartridges are bigger, they are supposed to have more ink. How much more?? I don't know for sure.

The xl may cost a little more but it WILL last longer. If you want to spend a little extra get that!

The XL have slightly more ink, but don't listen to the HP guys about the page a cartridge can print. I printed 490 using 2 XL and 2 regular 63 ink cartridge all brand new and official from HP, so it's: 490 pages with only black text (judgement text) with 1x 63 ink that come with the printer, 2x 63XL ink cartridge and 1x 63 ink cartridge. The regular one can print a big maximum of 60 pages.

wrong.in practice, the last hp 63 printed about 100 pages. half of which were half a page invoices
