“Can I use just the black ink cartridge or do I really need the color one also”

I print my travel documents monochrome black to save my colors for prints that I want with color or must have the color on them of course this means using the black ink more so buy more
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.From what I have experienced you need the color cartridges in but can chose to print in black only which will make the color last forever. I do believe the printer will work but you get the pesky notice every time you print reminding you to replace cartridge. hope that helped
