- Answer I'm seeing some references to problems with running Windows 10 with a 12th or 13th generation processor but I haven't seen that specific problem. But it is possible that's the cause.

QuestionHow best to connect from router to computer? I currently have Ethernet cable, adapter? Ethernet to USB? Is USB comparable in speed as opposed to Ethernet cable to Ethernet port? What about Thunderbolt port to monitor?

- Answer It has a built-in Ethernet port which would be a more stable connection. If you go from Thunderbolt to Ethernet, the unit has an Intel® AX211 Wi-Fi 6E that supports a 2.4 Gbps line and the Ethernet port caps at 1 Gbps. Just going through an adapter can potentially cause stability issues.

QuestionI've recently upgraded this laptop's ram to crucial 64gb 5600mhz ram but after upgraded its registering at 5200mhz. Has anyone used any different brands of 64gb ram at 5600mhz and it not drop down to 5200mhz after installation if so what did you use?

- Answer Unfortunately, the maximum allowed RAM mhz is 5200, so you can't go above that.

- Answer I have no idea why. It's got better specs that the comparative model on the HP store. 4060 and i9 cpu I'm sure Best Buy paid for some exclusivity deal. I'm not going to hate because I love the laptop and I picked it up on sale for $1449.

- Answer Hello and thank you for asking. The HP Envy 16-h1023dx laptop has 4 USB ports: 2 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C ports which are also Thunderbolt 4 ports. As it does not have an internal CD/DVD drive, you may wish to consider using one of the portable USB external CD/DVD (optical) drives available at Best Buy. This HP PC runs Microsoft Windows 11, so it comes with everything included by Microsoft with Windows. HP also includes a 30-day trial of Microsoft (Office) 365 and of McAfee Live Safe. In addition, HP also includes HP Quick Start to help you get started with Windows 11 and the HP Support Assistant to help keep your PC up to date, plus HP Connection Optimizer and HP Games by Wild Tangent.

QuestionThe battery on my HP-Envy 16" WGXGA with NVIDIA RTX 4060 only last less than 3 hours on a full charge. The computer was purchase in November 2023. Is there a setting that needs to be change. Thank you for the help.

- Answer when using on battery, you will want to set the refresh rate to 60Hz (Settings ->System -> Display ->Advanced Display ). also, for critical situations (i left the big charger at home) turn on the Battery Saver mode and charge with the USB-C during lunch, or whenever you can put your system to hibernate a few minutes. it will let you go through all day

- Answer There are 2 SODIMM slots. They support up to 64GB (32GBx2 kit). I recently installed the 32GBx2 kit from Kingston: https://shop.kingston.com/products/impact-ddr5-laptop-memory?variant=43391296340160 . This laptop takes DDR5 memory so I wouldn't go with DDR4 or DDR3. Frequency is 5600MT/s (5600Mhz). QuestionHow do I enable external display during boot, with lid closed? I have tried with all my monitors, and the screen is completely black until I get into windows, where it starts working. Tried both Thunderbolt and HDMI, with and without dock.

- Answer Yes. The laptop is more than capable. Any limitations would come from your TV or Zoom software. If you're talking about just mirroring your computers screen to the tv then there should be no problem. If your smart tv has a camera or you can attach one to it you could probably bypass using the computer altogether. Just launch zoom from your tv.
