QuestionWhat is the gray to gray (or whatever metric HP uses) response time of the display? Is there noticeable ghosting when used for gaming?

- Answer Thank you for the question. The WQXGA 100% RGB display on the Envy 16-h1023dx has a refresh rate of 120Hz . GtG is not referenced in the HP product specification, however, with the laptop's specifications and Evo build, you should receive great response and no ghosting.

QuestionI have both the original 1Tb SSD and a WD_Black SN850X NVMe 4tb ssd, which I saw is compatible with this device. What are the min/max sizes for heatsinks for my SSDs, and what would any answerers reccomend?

- Answer Thank you for the question. Unlike with desktop models, the heatsink on the Envy 16-h0000 laptop series is modular and should be replaced by the same size as the original. Please see the disassembly instructions on the HP Support YouTube channel.

QuestionDo the HDMI 2.1 ports support HDMI Cable Power by using the HDMI 2.1a cable? In other words, can the HDMI 2.1 ports provide power like the Thunderbolt 4 ports if using the HDMI 2.1a cables?

- Answer Hello, the HDMI port does not support power to this laptop. You must use the included 200-watt adapter with barral plug or use a high wattage (65w and above) USB-C brick and cable. USB-C charging only works when the laptop is completely off.

QuestionWill this unit operate in cold climates? What are the max operating temperatures?

- Answer Cold climates are probably better for this laptop as it idles at 50 C and thermal throttles under load in a 22 C environment. The max operating temperature is 97 C per Intel's specifications, but mine has hit 98 C for very short times. If you are under load it will run around 95 to 97 C as it thermal throttles.

- Answer Hello, you can choose on certain apps which GPU to utilize under Settings, Display, Graphics, then select from the available apps or games which GPU you want to use, or you can let windows decide. Another option is to go into Nvidia control panel and force which GPU to use there. Hopefully this helps!

- Answer Hello, I am currently using the Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR5 5200MHz and I've had no issues. I do recommend this kit or the 64GB version.
