• Thank you for your question about this HP Envy and the ability to shut it down. The keystroke ctrl+f4 closes the active document while alt+F4 brings up the shut down menu when not in an active application window.

• In a pinch, you can also just hold down the Power button for about 10 seconds, although I suspect you're just not looking in the right place: it's no longer on the left side, as it was with Win10.
