• No, you can't use a generic photo paper on this product and it must be a HP photo paper. No, you can't use a Cannon inkjet paper on this product.

• During tests, we have found that some Canon paper doesn't hold the HP ink well so it dries very slowly and you end up with smeared photos and fingerprints. So we recommend the HP photo paper for best quality.
