• Yes; because this model relies on two ink cartridges, it features a function called Single Cartridge Mode that activates when a cartridge is empty or has been removed. Optimum print performance recommends the use of both cartridges, though.

• It’ll print but will be funky colored. If you print regularly, I highly recommend the ink program. 3 bucks a month and you NEVER run out of ink. When it gets low, they automatically send you ink cartridges. And they’re way oversized - mine lasted a year and a half. For that, you have to hook it up to your home network and it allows you 50 pages a month. If you want 50 more, it goes up $2. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this program!!!
