You can choose sizes of your photos on your smartphone using the HP Smart App. You can get the app through Google Play Store or the App store on iPhone. You can choose sizes from 3x5 (index card), 4x6, 5x7 to letter (8.5 x 11) size photos. 8 x 10 photos would be something you can do from computer. Yes, you can print photos from your smartphone either through your home wireless network or the WiFi Direct. When you use your home wireless network, the smartphone also must be connected to the network. Wi-Fi Direct broadcasts a signal like a router from your printer. It just gives you a direct communication between your printer and your device. You can find your printer name for the Wi-Fi Direct in your Wi-Fi settings. When you open your Wi-Fi settings, you will notice a lot of networks. Your printer will have a name like Direct-05-HP Deskjet 3631. You will select that name and enter the password that you got from your printer.
