yes it can. I have mine hooked up with a usb cable.but you'll need your own, cause it doesn't come with one

You might be able to connect to an older computer if you have enough internal memory and are running Windows 10. You may also need to download the driver for your printer. I tried to attach to my older laptop but I didn't have Windows 10 (my computer told me I need Windows 10) and and did not want to upgrade to 10. (My laptop had other issues like non-working keys.)
