“Will my Envy 5505 COPY as well as PRINT with just black cartridge? As far as drying out should I take out the COLOR cartridge and keep it sealed in a in plastic bag or leave it in.? These cartridges and Instant Ink are getting too expensive!”

Yes you can use just the black ink option. When you print set your settings to B/W option.

If you are utilizing Instant Ink, we recommend keeping both cartridges installed, and perhaps adjusting your printing plan to save on costs if need be. If you are not using Instant Ink, then yes, the printer can function on Single Cartridge Mode with just the black cartridge installed.
