Hi Dave, thank you for the question and feedback. Inkjet cartridges have hundreds of nozzles, and perform better when the printer is powered on 24/7. This allows for cleaning cycles if needed, and to keep the ink at the proper viscosity. It's not a bad idea to print one page (even a test page) every couple of weeks to keep the nozzles clear. You'll always be ready to print.
