It's supposed to but know this: since it's a hp, there's always a possibility that it either won't hook up through wifi at all or will but then will CONSTANTLY lose the connection you established. It's a "feature" (not really, it's a common defect) of hp printers apparently. It has nothing to do with your setup or nice new 5 GHz router, it's the equipment. It doesn't always happen mind yo, I;ve had several w/outthis problems, but my ENVY 7855 loses the connection for printing constantly, I've installed the printer maybe 7-8 times, now I use the default name, and I'm up to #6 because apple appends w/ numbers items with the same name, before that I had a couple with custom names, so I guess i've installed the printer EIGHT times. deplorable, they should be ashamed. Others have reported the same problem w/ hp printers, and only with hp printers.
