“does this printer (Envy 7855) scan auto duplex with the ADF? Do any of the HP printers? I loved my PhotoSmart 7520”

• No, the Envy Photo 7855 does not. The OfficeJet Pro 9015 can auto duplex scan/copy in 2 passes (it flips the paper over automatically) and the OfficeJet Pro 9025 has single pass duplex scanning/copying.
