“is it ok to change from "always available" to print to "available from" hours in advanced setting on HP Envy 6005e? Purpose would be to save wear and tear. Note I have HP Smart and don't want to affect service. Thank you”

Yes, that will be no problem. Obviously, the printer won't respond to print requests from the HP Smart app outside the available hours, but that's the only change you should notice.
