Open box means someone bought it new, brought it home and opened it up, and returned it. It’s not “used” or “refurbished,” just opened, so not perfectly new. A good deal in my opinion
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Basically, it means that someone opened it, started to use it, and for whatever reason decided they didn't want it. Best Buy goes through, makes sure there's none of that person's software on the computer and that all the hardware works properly, and installs a fresh version of Windows. Because someone took it home and out of the box, it can't be sold as "new", but it's not really a pre-owned and refurbished computer, so they sell it as "open box".
